According to statistics released by the China's customs, China's exports of steel products totaled 4.24 million tons in August, down by 1.9% from a month earlier, falling for consecutive two weeks.
In August, China's imports of steel products totaled 1.2 million tons, up by 3.4% month on month.
In the first eight months of this year, the country's exports of steel products totaled 35.79 million tons, rising by 8.6% in comparison of that in the same period of a year earlier.
In the given period of time, China's imports of steel products amounted to 9.32 million tons, decreasing by 12.3% year on year.
Meanwhile, China's iron ore imports in August increased by 5.69% year on year to reach 62.45 million tons. In the first eight months of 2012, the country's iron ore imports rose by 8.7% to hit 486.05 million tons.
